These improvements to the manufacture of ceramic floor tiles, especially those obtained by extrusion in the form of a bar which is cut and stamped, providing planar pieces which are dried and fired, consist in grouping the aforesaid pieces by means of turning over, forming sets of pairs superposed via their fine, or recto, face, presenting their base, or verso, faces to view, which sets are stacked on trucks for the subsequent operations of drying and firing. The stacks are produced by forming staggered levels with intermediate spaces which facilitate the aforesaid operations. This system of manufacture allows total automation of the process and greater rapidity thereof as well as elimination of handling operations which cause deteriorations in the floor tiles. <IMAGE>
