PURPOSE:To obtain an ixodid-controlling agent exhibiting an excellent germici dal effect on ixodids with a slight toxicity and an excellent controllability of ixodids, enabling the prevention of a disease carried by the ixodids by containing terpene compounds as active ingredients. CONSTITUTION:The objective controlling agent contains a terpene compound such as l-menthol or peppermint oil, or purified oil containing said compound, conventionally being used as a component of medicine, cosmetic and food with no environmental pollution nor undesirable effect on beast bodies as an active ingredient. Said active ingredient may be solely used or mixed with a carrier to obtain a formulation and diluted, as necessary. Then the formulation is sprayed to grass ground in which ixodids live or to livestocks such as cattles parasitized with ixodids daily once to several time. A formulation containing 5% active ingredient is sprayed to cattle so as the active ingredient to be 10-30g, and 5% formulation of active ingredient is scattered to grass ground so as the active ingredient to be 0.5-10g/m<2> as a necessary amount of controlling. |
