PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having rapid ink absorbability and suitable for forming a highly detailed sharp image by applying a coating material consisting of at least pigment and a binder to a base material containing high yield pulp. CONSTITUTION:High yield pulp contains GR, CGR, RGR, TMP or SCP prepared in digesten yield higher than that of chemical pulp and medium old paper such as old newspaper may be used. It is extremely advantageous that the content of the high yield pulp is 30% or more, pref., 50% or more, more pref., 70% or more from the aspect of effect and manufacturing cost. A coating material is fundamentally constituted of pigment and a binder and, as the pigment, synthetic silica, alumina or basic magnesium carbonate is pref. because the colorant in the ink is caught on the uppermost layer of the coating material and color developability becomes well. |
