PURPOSE:To recognize the incoming state of the device only with a telephone even from a spot remote from the device by having a character recognizing part, a word dictionary, a character code memory, a sound synthesizing part and a parameter dictionary for sound synthesizing. CONSTITUTION:A telephone set TEL side does not react to a digital identifying signal DIS and facsimile equipment FAX (R) keeps waiting while maintaing the state that a digital command signal DCS is to be arrived since it does not know it. Then, the facsimile equipment FAX (R) judges an opposite machine as a telephone TEL by timing out after the lapse of constant time. When it is known that the opposite machine is the telephone TEL, facsimile equipment FAX (R) 1 reads a character code memory 11 and transmits a character code to a sound synthesizing part 12. Then, synthesized sound 19 is transmitted for a caller's telephone (TEL) 5 through the facsimile equipment FAX (R) 1. Thus, the incoming state of a facsimile receiver can be known when the telephone can be used even in a spot remote from the facsimile receiver. |
