It is expedient to connect at least one electrode consisting of alkali-sensitive metal or an alloy as cathode for electrochemical corrosion-proofing of a water system with a tank through which the water flows in whole or in part and with two or more electrodes in the tank which are connected to an electrolysis power source. The treatment time and consumption of protective metal are reduced in this way. |
