PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent image without having irregularities in fixing caused by the deformation of a heating roller by normally separating a pair of separable rollers, and press-welding them each other when a recording sheet passes. CONSTITUTION:The recording sheet carried to a resist roller 41 is detected by a paper feeding sensor 70, and a control circuit 72 energizes a solenoid 67. When the solenoid 67 is energized, the heating roller 62 separated in a stand-by state is press-welded to the roller 61, by a turning action, and heated while being rotated and driven, and a toner image on the recording sheet is fixed to the recording sheet. When the recordings sheet is ejected from a fixing device 60, a paper ejecting sensor 71 detects the recording sheet. However, the sensor 71 does not detect the recording sheet, the controlling circuit 72 stops the energization of the solenoid 67. Thus, the roller 62 is separated from the roller 61 by the turning action. Therefore, the rollers 61 and 62 are not continuously press-welded for a long time, and it is not feared that a periphery is deformed, but the irregularities in the fixing caused by the deformation do not occur. |
