Disk cartridge which has upper and lower halves (1,2) that are brought together and in which a disk is rotatably accommodated has support members (25) which are fixed to locations on the inner surfaces of the cartridge havles that face disk inner periphery and outer periphery portions where there are no recording signals. When the disk is not being used it is supported by the support members on one or the other of the cartridge halves. Pref. the disk support members are made of silicone rubber and have outer surfaces such as to prevent the disk being held to them by suction, e.g. they have radial grooves in them.
