The pipe connector for coupling the plane ends of two pipes (1,2) has a clamping collar (3) and a corrugated band (5). Two clamping heads (34) span a longitudinal slit in the connector, each head having a bolt (37,38) held by a looped band (40). Axial protrusions (44) form supports (44) between the clamping heads. They are integrally formed with the round bolts, pref. profiled and engaging a corrugation (17) of a shell strip (5). ADVANTAGE - Simple supports given by the bolt shapes.
