The mounting element, comprises a fixing foot (12) and a perpendicular support plate (14) having 2 spaced slits (26) along its top edge for locating 2 relatively insulated electrical conductors across which a voltage is applied. Two holes (38) are provided in the surface of the support plate (14) beneath the slits (26), for receiving electrical lead wires held at the same relative spacing as the electrical conductors. Pref. the support plate (14) is made of an insulating plastics, with 2 1.5 mm dia. holes (38) for the lead wires and a 3.3 mm dia. bore (36) for the electrical conductor, at the base of each inwardly tapering slit (26). ADVANTAGE - Simple electrical connections between electrical conductors in different planes.
