<p>Acylated poly(amino acids), particularly L-lysine homopolymers or copolymers, are used to modulate the functional status of mononuclear phagocytes. By contacting the mononuclear phagocytes with the subject compositions, signals may be transduced into the cells with the resulting change in the activation status of the mononuclear phagocytes with an increase and/or decrease in the expression of proteins, particular surface membrane receptors.</p> |
