A device (10) for use in transporting and storing materials. The device includes a housing which is defined by a bottom panel (16) and four generally planar panels (18, 20, 22) extending substantially perpendicular to the bottom panel (16). A generally rectangular compartment is defined within those four panels (18, 20, 22) which extend perpendicular to the bottom panel (16). Upper edges of two opposite of the panels perpendicular to the bottom panel (16) are convexly arcuate and parallel to one another. The upper edges of the other two panels are also convex and parallel to one another. The device (10) further includes a generally planar closure panel (26) including a lower surface which carries a compressible seal. The seal (51) is of a size at least as great as an area defined by the upper edges of the four panels (18, 20, 22) which are perpendicular to the bottom panel (16) of the housing. The seal (51) cooperates intimately with the upper edges of the four panels (18, 20, 22), when the closure panel (26) is brought into engagement with the top of the housing, to seal the compartment defined within the four panels (18, 20, 22). |
