<p>A gravel prepack production system characterized by a flexible gravel prepack (10) comprising an inner tube (14) and a plurality of discrete annular filter elements (12) carried on the inner tube and longitudinally spaced therealong by spacers (16). The tube is free to flex at the segments thereof intermediate the relatively rigid filter elements (12) to enable the gravel prepack (10) to traverse even severe dog-legs in the well. The filter elements (12) and spacers (16) may be strung onto the inner tube (14) at the production site to configure the gravel prepack (10) to the particular application as by selecting a desired spacing between the filter elements (12).</p> |
