PURPOSE:To improve anti-blocking properties and surface strength by laminating a precoat layer of a radical polymerizable compound and a thermally plastic resin layer on an support and making the radical polymerizable compound a mixture of a compound having an acryloyl group and a compound having a methacryloyl group, both being in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer consists of a precoat layer composed mainly of a radical polymerizable compound laminated over a thermally plastic resin layer on a support. The radical polymerizable compound is a blend of a compound having a single type or more of acryloyl groups (A) and a compound having a single type or more of methacryloyl groups (B). In addition, the blending ratio of (A) and (B) is 55:45 to 95:5 in terms of weight %. The radical polymerizable compound is irradiated with an electron beam at an accelerated voltage of 100 to 300kV and an absorbed dose of 0.5 to 10MRad after being applied to the support. After applying two types or more of radical polymerizable compound with different curing reactivities on the support, a thermally plastic resin layer is formed and then is irradiated with an ultraviolet beam or an electron beam for curing to obtain a sublimable image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer. The recommended thermally plastic resin is especially a saturated linear polyester resin. |
