PURPOSE:To make a stable operation measure of lateral heat sealing rolls and to protect a packing device by a method wherein if a foreign matter is put in a space between the lateral heat sealing rolls, at least one of the lateral heat sealing rolls escapes by a resilient-pressing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A pair of lateral heat sealing rolls 12 are driven by a driving source to rotate through a gear 17 so that they sandwich and send a film F and make a heat sealing. At this time, at least one of the lateral heat sealing rolls 12 is arranged movably so that a space S between the rolls 12 can be adjusted and also the rolls 12 can be contacted with each other. The space S between the rolls 12 is set by a setting part 22. If a foreign matter goes into the space S between the rolls 12, a sliding stand 16 escapes by a resilient- pressing mechanism 23 and hence at least one of the lateral heat sealing rolls 12 escapes. Accordingly a lateral sealing part 7 including the lateral heat sealing rolls 12 can be subject to a stable operation measure, and thus, a packing device can be protected. |
