<p>The fire-extinguishing powder of improved character comprises a mixture of alkali metal cryolite, conventional extinguishing agents, and additives to maintain fluidity, mobility, and moisture resistance. Spec. the mixture contains up to 50, pref. 10-30 wt.% Na and/or K cryolite of mean size 1-20 mu. with K or NH4 sulphates, alkali metal bicarbonates, mono and diammonium orthophosphate. The powder has markedly improved extinguishing properties of the order of 10-30 times conventional agents.</p> |
