<p>1292701 Benzene GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO 29 Jan 1970 [14 March 1969] 4228/70 Heading C5E The process of Specification 1,165,399 for the thermal hydro-dealkylation of alkylbenzenes to produce benzene is modified by subjecting the effluent from the auxiliary zone, preferably mixed with the effluent for the primary reaction zone, to catalytic hydrogenation to remove unsaturated aliphatic contaminants without significant saturation of benzene. The catalytic hydrogenation may be carried out at 7-70 (preferably 28-42) kg./cm.<SP>2</SP>, 66-329‹ C. (preferably 302-329‹ C.) and LHSV of 1-20 (preferably 3-6).</p> |
