PURPOSE:To obtain an alumina container having excellent corrosion resistance by adding a specific metal compound as a sintering auxiliary to the raw material of alumina powder, molding the mixture and sintering the molded product. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of easily sinterable alumina powder is mixed with 0.01-3.5 pts.wt. of MgF2, 0.005-3.5 pts.wt. of La2O3, 0.005-1.5 pts.wt. of Y2O3 and 0-3.5 pts.wt. of ZrO2 as sintering auxiliaries and further with water and a binder as dispersing agent to form an alumina slurry. A molded product is obtained from the alumina slurry and subsequently sintered at 1500-1700 deg.C. |
