PURPOSE:To maintain a long life of the medium by providing a mechanical reinforcing film between a reflecting/cooling film and an org. protective film formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate 1, there are successively formed a first protective film 2, recording film 3, second protective film 4, reflecting and cooling film 5, mechanical reinforcing film 7 and org. protective film 6. By providing the thin film 7 comprising a diamond-like thin film or ceramic thin film having high strength, peeling of deposited layers or irreversible deformation can be prevented, and thereby, the obtd. optical recording medium is stable and has a long life without causing deterioration against repetition of recording and erasing for about 10<6> times. |
