The data acquisition system is used to determine the operational use of a road vehicle. The on board system is based around a CPU(F) together with A=D and D=A converter for input and output of data. The vehicle has one or more sensors (D,K) that respond to the vibrations generated when the engine operates. The processor allows relevent information to be determined from the sensor output, such as, number of starts, total number of speed changes, total operating time. The system is protected against external manipulation. ADVANTAGE - Reliable determination of vehicle usage.
