<p>PURPOSE:To surely extract data in the case of high-speed search by providing a means to count a take-up reel pulse from the starting edge of a magnetic tape, and controlling tape speed by a tape speed control means based on corrected tape speed in the case of high-speed search. CONSTITUTION:A means 6 is provided to count the take-up reel pulse from the starting edge of the magnetic tape, the tape speed is calculated at an arbitrary tape position by using the reel pulse count value, a tape speed control means 10 controls the tape speed based on the calculated tape speed, the reel pulse count value is further corrected by using time information on a magnetic tape 2, the tape speed at the arbitrary tape position is calculated and in the case of high-speed search, the tape speed control means 10 controls the tape speed based on the corrected tape speed. Thus, since error caused by the miscount of the reel pulse by a void between tapes or when repeating forward/ backward traveling is corrected by using absolute time to be reproduced, the turning speed of the take-up reel is exactly calculated, and the data can surely be read in the case of high-speed search.</p> |
