PURPOSE:To carry out good both side color printing and to prevent generation of paper wrinkling, paper curling, and paper jamming by carrying out fixing of a surface at a temporary fixing part before main fixing by a thermal fixing device and to carry out main fixing to both sides after a toner image is formed on a backside. CONSTITUTION:Temporary fixing is carried out by pressurizing the toner image 12 formed on a first surface of a recording medium 1 by the temporary fixing part 15. Next, the recording medium 1 is turned backwards and after the toner image 12 is formed on the backside of the recording medium 1, thermal fixing (main fixing) is carried out to both sides of the recording medium 1 by the thermal fixing device 19 at the same time. By carrying out main fixing of both sides at the same time after the first surface is temporarily fixed, oil adhered to the recording medium 1 can be prevented from imparting an adverse effect to other processing units such as a photosensitive body. Thus, both side color printing can be carried out well, and the generation of the paper wrinkling, the paper curling, and the paper jamming can be prevented. |
