PURPOSE:To prevent seizure of a friction plate and early deterioration of a differential oil by detecting an oil temperature in a differential limiting device, and prohibiting control of an opening/closing clutch when a detected output exceeds a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An opening/closing clutch 4 to temporarily connect the right and left driving shafts 3a and 3b to each other, both connected by a differential gear 2 to each other, is controlled by a program control circuit. In this case, a temperature sensor 5 is provided which detects an oil temperature in a differential limiting device and inputs the detected output to the program control circuit. In the program control circuit, when the detected output temperature of the temperature sensor 5 exceeds a specified value, the control of the opening/ closing clutch 4 is prohibited. Consequently, the connection of the right and left driving shafts 3a, 3b is released, so that the slipping between the friction plates is eliminated, seizure is prevented and also early deterioration of the differential oil is prevented.
