PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture, inventory management, and maintenance of a control unit by providing such a constitution as calculating and holding the shifting limit vehicle speed of each gear stage on the basis of an engine rotating speed, a vehicle speed, and a maximum allowable rotating speed determined depending on the kind of the engine. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of an engine rotating speed from an engine rotation sensor 14, a vehicle speed from a vehicle speed sensor 8, and a maximum allowable rotating speed determined depending on the kind of an engine 5, the shifting limit vehicle speed in each gear stage is calculated by a control unit 2 and held in a ROM 2-2. Thus, a shifting limit vehicle speed table to be held by the control unit 2 is calculated by itself and obtained by running a vehicle after the vehicle is completed, whereby it is not required to preliminarily provide a value of the shifting limit vehicle speed table according to the individual vehicle kind. Thus, the usability of the control unit 2 is increased, and its manufacture, inventory management and maintenance are facilitated. |
