PURPOSE:To improve fitting and non-seizure property by forming an aluminum fluoride coating as thick as 0.1 to 10mum on a sliding surface by means of chemical conversion coating. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum fluoride coating as thick as 0.1 to 10mum is formed on a sliding surface of a bearing by means of chemical conversion coating. For example, Al bearing allay containing 3.5% of Zn, 2.5% at Si, 0.8% of Cu and the remaining of Al is made to be a plate and a steel plate is overlaid as a back metal, wherein the assembly is rolled to be integrally joined. Then an aluminum coating is formed in an aluminum fluoride bath. Test results of this specimen will cause no seizure up to a high surface pressure as indicated in a table. |
