PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful for culture fishing, etc., by cultur ing a bacterium comprising recombinant DNA containing DNA to code a growth hormone of fishes, accumulating a culture product in the culture mixture and collecting a polypeptide with guanidine hydrochloride. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium (e.g. Escherichia coli) containing recombinant DNA integrated with DNA to code a growth hormone polypeptide of fishes (e.g. tuna) having a peptide sequence shown by the formula is cultured in a nutritive medium, the growth hormone polypeptide of fishes is accumulated in the culture mixture, which is centrifuged, the precipitate is suspended in tris hydrochloric acid buffer solution, treated with lysozyme, centrifuged, the precipitate is collected, treated with 6M guanidine hydrochloride in tris hydrochloric acid buffer solution for 2 days while stirring, treated with an adsorbing resin, the adsorbed substance is eluted with isopropanol and lyophilized to give a polypeptide shown by the formula. |
