Recording (copying) paper, has a metal layer deposited by high vacuum evaporation, the paper base being provided with micro-embossing by pressing it in hte surface smoothing or calendering section of the paper-making machine by roll, the cylindrical surface of which has been give a corresp. microstructure either mechanically e.g. by sandblasting, or chemically e.g., by etching.
