<p>PURPOSE:To simplify a character enlarging process by adding bit data to respective parts of a simple enlarged bit pattern, where respective bits are formed according enlargement magnification, according to an interpolation pattern read out of an interpolation data memory according to the classification types of the parts. CONSTITUTION:The interpolation data memory 2 is stored with data on desired interpolation patterns in locations determined by numbers and magnifications. For the purpose, bit patterns of several bits at peripheries of respective bits of a register 3 including the bits are compared, bit by bit, with respective types in the memory 6 in order and when no matching type is found, bit parts in a register 4 corresponding to the bits need not be interpolated, so an adjacent bit in the register 3 is compared similarly; when one matching type is found in the memory 6, the interpolation pattern corresponding to the type is read out of the memory 2 and added to the bit pattern in the register 4. Consequently, the bit pattern of a completed enlarged character is generated in the register 4.</p> |
