PURPOSE:To obtain the optical amplification device of simple constitution by composing the device of a lens which converges projection light from a semiconductor laser and an optical fiber which has a window where the converged light is made incident and is doped with Er<3+>. CONSTITUTION:In a figure, 1 is the semiconductor laser, 2 is the condenser lens, 3 is the Er<3+>-doped optical fiber with the incidence window, 4 is the incidence window with a nonreflective coating, 5 is a reflecting mirror which reflects the projection light of the semiconductor laser 1 made incident on the fiber, and 6 is a fiber core. Thus, the device is constituted and the optical fiber can be excited without being limited to the size of the light emission spot of the semiconductor laser. Further, the light made incident on the fiber can be made incident effectively on the core 6 by an incidence mirror 5 and the excitation efficiency is improved. |
