<p>A device for monitoring the air space in the machine is arranged in a synchronous machine with a stator 5 and a rotor 1-4. The device comprises measurement loops 71-74 arranged to surround the stator and detect the stator flow. The loops in each pair 71, 72 and 73, 74 are diametrically opposite and are so arranged that the voltages induced in the loops are in phase. By creating the difference between the voltages from both measurement loops in each pair, detection of air space changes and their type and position can be carried out. <IMAGE></p> |
