<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the device from being damaged owing to the winding of a recording material without providing any separation claw by stopping the driving of a driving source when the time from the absence of the recording material detected by a recording material presence/absence detecting means to the presence is shorter than a specific time. CONSTITUTION:When the head of the recording material P passed through the press-contacting part between a fixing roller 1 and a pressure roller 4 reaches a specific position, the recording material presence/absence detecting means 9 detects the recording material being presence. If, however, an intermediate part of the recording material begins to be wound around the fixing roller, the head is drawn back toward the press-contacting part. Consequently, the recording material presence/absence detecting means detects the absence of the recording material. The time from when the recording material presence is detected to when the recording material absence is detected is shorter than when the recording material is not wound, so a control means stops the driving immediately on detecting the winding of the recording material P. Thus, the recording material P stops in the beginning of the winding and never damages the device.</p> |
