The invention relates to an arrangement for testing the electrical system of a towed vehicle. The arrangement has a circuit comprising a 7-pole contact device 15, first indicating members 14a-e, a second indicating member 22 and a voltage source 19. The circuit can be connected to the corresponding 7-pole contact device of the towed vehicle to indicate correct/incorrect functioning of the electrical system. The first indicating members 14a-e can be connected individually to the 7-pole contact device of the towed vehicle. The invention is characterized in that the first and second indicating members are connected in parallel and in that an automatic fuse 21 is connected in parallel with the second indicating member 22. The automatic fuse 21 is tripped and the second indicating member 22 is activated when there is a short circuit in the electrical system.
