Sulphide compds. of arsenic and also of Cd, Hg, Sb and Bi are recovered from sulphide ores contg. these metals by a foma floatation in which the milled minerals are suspended in water to give a suspension of approx. 50% solid content; Ca compds. e.g. slaked lime, are added to the suspension to produce a Ca ion concn. in the liquid phase of 150-1500 (300-1200) mg/l, the pH of the suspension is adjusted to 11.5 by addn. of alkaline metal hydroxides and it is heated to 30-50 (35-45) degrees C curpic ion is added in amts. to give a molar ratio of As in the solid phase to Cu2+ of 50:1 to 500:1 (100:1 to 250:1) further the usual floatation agents are added and floatation is carried out in the known manner.
|
