The separator for processing liquids contg. hazardous substances, consists of a cylindrical vessel (10) contg. a flotation basin (12), with a ring main (14) near the top receiving the liquid supply from a line (20) contg. an air supply (24) and nozzle (26) to disperse the liquid-air mixture and form small air bubbles. - Suction nozzles (34) are provided in a float (30), leading to a common suction line (28). A tubular line (50) is positioned concentric to the float guide (32) as a discharge line for the liquid fraction, which is returned via a by-pass (52) and nozzles (54) at a lower level than the supply, with a similar air supply (58).
