PD TYPE CATALYST FOR SELECTIVELY HYDROGENATING HIGHLY UNSATURATED HYDROCARBON AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prepare a Pd type catalyst for selectively hydrogenating highly unsaturated hydrocarbons without generating wastefulness in a metal supporting amount by dipping and holding a Pd supported catalyst in an electroless silver plating bath. CONSTITUTION:In preparing a Pd type catalyst for selectively hydrogenating highly unsaturated hydrocarbons, at first, an electroless plating bath consisting of a silver salt, a reducing agent and a buffer agent is prepared and a Pd supported catalyst is dipped and held in this plating bath to selectively precipitate and support Ag on the surface of Pd. As the Ag salt, for example, an inorg. silver salt or silver cyanide is used.
