The container-type storage unit has a supporting frame of lengthwise and transverse struts (12,14,18) and uprights (16,20,28). One or more liquid-collecting troughs (30,34) have a grating (32) or transverse guide rails at the top edge, to form a supporting surface. The trough is a self-supporting component independent of the frame, of sheet-metal bent at the edges. It can be welded into the frame along its sides, or have edges bent outwards by which it is detachably suspended in it.
