Glass bottle neck fault testing device - uses light reflection with lens across bottom end of test head containing light source and photosensors

The fault testing device (1) has a housing (6) enclosing a test head (5), positioned above the glass or transparent plastics item (2) to be checked and incorporating a light source with a lamp (10) and a number of photosensors (15) for detecting reflected light. An optical lens (7) across the open bottom end of the test head (5) has a central bore (8) for passage of a light conductor (9) coupled to the lamp (10) at the light input end. The light reflected by flaws in the checked item (2) is focussed onto the photosensors (15) via the optical lens (7) and a respective condenser lens (14), with evaluation of the photosensor output signals.
