The relay coil (1) and armature (2) are supported on a spring-carrier (4) with the spring contact pair (3) which is closed when the armature (2) is tilted by energisation of the coil. The carrier is hollowed out to provide a recess (8) for the insertion of an electronic module (9) whose connection pins (10) protrude to the same extent as those (6,7) of the coil and contacts. The module may be in the form of a cassette or an embedded unit secured in the recess by retaining walls (11). A changeover relay may have the module recessed into a baseplate under the contact carrier.
