A television receiver utilising digital circuit technology has five processors (10,12,14,16,18). The processors are assigned different control functions; chrominance vertical hold (18). Two of the processors are used for service adjustments and the others are utilised by the owner to meet his own requirements using a remote control unit (24). The processors are bus coupled (34-42) to a microprocessor (28) that is coupled to a receiver module (20) and a programme memory (30). A switch (32) coupled to the microprocessor is normally set to allow the user control of the normal functions when the switch is operated the unit changes to the service mode, enabling personnel to have control of the receiver setting parameters.
