METHOD FOR DETECTING REGISTER OF COLOR PRINTER

PURPOSE:To accurately execute a visual register by recording measurement patterns by respective units in the same color with different density. CONSTITUTION:The recording units 10 - 13 are set to equal-color recording and record the linear measurement patterns P0 - P3 which differ in recording density on a recording body PP. The recording shifts d1 - d3 of the recording units 10 - 13 are detected from the positions of the recording patterns P0 - P3 of mutually different density on the recording body PP. Consequently, a measurement pattern in yellow which is low in lightness and hardly measured with the eye is not recorded and the accurate register of the respective recording units 10 - 13 can accurately be measured.
