1,229,233. Bowl type scrapers. L. R. SIMMONS. 26 April, 1968 [22 Nov., 1967], No. 16472/70. Divided out of 1,229,232. Heading E1F. Positioned across the mouth of a scraper bowl 10 is an elevator 22 that is suported on arms 11 through pivot means 42 and means, jack-actuated links 35 or jacks, that control pivoting of the elevator relative to the arms; the arms 11 in turn being swingable vertically about pivotal conections 31 with the sides of the bowl by an actuator or actuators 13. The actuator(s) 13 control the extent of the front opening of the bowl and the means control the angle of inclination of the elevator so that said angle may be adjusted to that most suitable for raking material into the bowl. Limited pivoting of the elevator relative to the arms against spring means may be permitted by lost motion connections between the elevator and the links 35. This limited pivoting prevents jamming of the elevator when large lumping material is entering the bowl. The floor construction of the bowl forms the subject matter of the referred to Specification 1,229,232. |
