PURPOSE:To simply obtain a homogeneous superconductive material having an accurate component and compsn. in a short time by using a pure copper powder and gaseous oxygen for the production of an oxide superconducting material containing copper and oxygen as structural elements, and utilizing the heat of formation in the combustion reaction of these two elements. CONSTITUTION:The source mixture powder 1 is prepared by mixing the source powder of each structural element in a specified proportion for the oxide superconducting material such as La, Y, B or the like. As for elements except for copper and oxygen, pure metals, oxides, carbides, etc., may be used, while a pure copper powder is used as copper and gaseous oxygen such as pure oxygen or a mixture with Ar is used as oxygen. A container 2 is charged with the powder 1 and put in an electric furnace 4 in a high-pressure chamber 3. The powder 1 is heated to cause self-ignition or ignited with use of an ignition resister heater wire 7. Synthesis reaction is caused by the heat of formation produced during the combustion reaction of the pure copper powder and the gaseous oxygen, and then the synthetic reaction is made to propagate to the whole powder 1 by self-propagating high-temp. synthesis. |
