PURPOSE:To reduce inferiority at trouble time while attaining saving of energy by interposing a lateral link mechanism between a rear wheel and a rear wheel steering mechanism, and performing rear wheel steering control by the lateral link mechanism, at steady condition time of a vehicle, and by a control means at transient condition time. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel steering mechanism 12 is constituted of a rear side rack pinion mechanism 26 housed in a rear side gear box 24, lateral link mechanism 28 for connecting the rear side rack pinion mechanism 26 to in line with a rear wheel 14, centering spring 30 interposed respectively in both the mechanisms 26, 28 and a triangular rear side arm 32 connected to the rear wheel 14. The rear side rack pinion mechanism 26 is operation-controlled by an electric motor 34. In the case of a vehicle 2 in a steady condition, the lateral link mechanism 28 and bushes 44-1, 44-2 of the rear side arm 32 are deformation- moved by lateral force, acting on the rear wheel 14, so that it is steered to the inside. On the other hand, at transient condition time, the electric motor 34 is drive-controlled, and a moving amount of a supporting point A of the lateral link mechanism 28 is controlled in order to steer the rear wheel 14 in an equal phase. |
