The hydro-pneumatic unit, especially shock absorber, has a container (1) with base (2), and a guide for a piston-rod. The container (1) contains a centred, fluid-filled cylinder. The interior is divided by a piston joined to the piston-rod into two chambers. At least one fitment (4) matching the container outer shape, containing damping-valves is joined to an opening in the container (1). A seal (8) is positioned between the container (1) outer surface and the fitment (4) end surface is pressed against the surfaces. USE/ADVANTAGE - The connecting fitment has a seal and is free of heat effects.
