The present invention relates to a guide unit for the diamond wire tensioning device in a machine for cutting blocks of stone. A machine 1 of this kind essentially comprises a pair of pulleys 2-3 around which a diamond wire 4 is run in the form of a loop, one of these pulleys 2 being powered while the other 3 is idle, the latter being capable of moving horizontally towards or away from the powered pulley 2. The idle pulley 3 is associated with a tensioning device 9 for the diamond wire 4, consisting of a carriage 10 provided with wheels 11 which can run along the edges of a horizontal guide 12. Each wheel 11 consists of two independent elements 13-14 coaxial with and adjacent to each other, with truncated conical profiles with opposing conicity, mounted on a horizontal shaft 15. These independent elements 13-14 are therefore subject only to rolling friction, and not to sliding friction. |
