The container (1) has a lid which is secured by bolts (3) which pass through holes in the container walls. Each bolt is locked by a U-shaped locking element with the legs (7, 8) of the U converging in the direction of the closed end of the U-shaped. These locking elements are connected one to another by chains or other flexible connections to enable all the locking elements to be withdrawn from the respective bolts simultaneously, thus providing a quick action means of opening the container. USE/ADVANTAGE - Container with secure lid which is easily opened.
