<p>PURPOSE:To improve the sentence reading speed of an observer by replacing KANJI (Chinese character) contained in a sentence with blank spaces on the outside of a certain area around the eyes of an observer. CONSTITUTION:An eye movement detector detects the eyes of an observer and a peripheral section converter makes such conversion that the KANJI contained in a Japanese sentence composed of KANJI and KANA (Japanese syllabary) outputted from an information processor for display is replaced in real time with blank spaces and the KANA is not converted on the outside of a certain area around the eyes of the observer, with the sentence within the certain area being left as it is, on the basis of the eye movement information sent from the eye movement detector. Then successively converted character strings are displayed on a Japanese sentence exhibiting display in accordance with the movement of the eyes. Therefore, the visual information collecting function at the peripheral parts of the retinae of the eyes of the observer having weak sight can be improved and, as a result, the sentence reading speed of the observer can be improved.</p> |
