PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. without using any halogen compd. by compounding a vinyl arom. resin with red phosphorus and an org. polysiloxane. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. comprises 100 pts.wt. vinyl arom. resin, 5-30 pts.wt. red phosphorus, and 5-20 pts.wt. org. polysiloxane. The resin is prepd. by polymerizing a vinyl arom. monomer, a mixture of two or more vinyl arom. monomers. or if necessary a mixture of the vinyl arom. monomer or monomers with a copolymerizable vinyl monomer, and may be modified with a rubbery polymer to enhance impact strength. Examples of the polysiloxane include polydimethylsiloxane and polydiphenylsiloxane. |
