Cpds. are of formula (I): where R1 is alkyl (1-6C, st. or ranched), cycloalkyl (3-6C), alkenyl (2-6C, st. or branched), or phenyl; Y is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl (both straight or branched, 1-6C), alkoxy (2-6C, straight or branched), phenyl, Cl, alkylthio, alkylamino, dialkylamino, dialkylaminoalkyl, cyano, carboxy, or carbalkoxy (2-7C), the alkyl gps. having 1-7C, unless stated otherwise; Z is H, alkyl or alkoxy (1-6C, straight or branched). In an example (I), R1 = CH3, Y = 5-CH3, Z = H, was fed to turkeys at a concn. of 0.025% in the food. This protected the birds against histomoniasis caused by administration of eggs of Heterakis gallins. |
