PURPOSE:To effectively prevent a magneto-optical recording medium layer from being oxidized by forming the protecting film of a disk as a protecting film composed of both an inorganic dielectric and a water repellent resin. CONSTITUTION:In the magneto-optical disk successively laminating a dielectric layer I1, magneto-optical recording layer 3 composed of rare earth elements and alloy with transient metal, and dielectric layer II4 at least on a transparent substrate 1, any one of the dielectric layers I1 and II4 or the both are formed as the protecting film of the magneto-optical disk by simultaneously filming the inorganic dielectric and the water repellent resin. The magneto-optical recording medium layer composed of the alloy of rare earth metal - transient metal can be widely applied for a system containing alloy TbFe, TbFeCo or the like containing magnetic metal, which can be recorded and reproduced, to be easily oxidized such as Pr, Nd, Pm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy and Ho, for example, based on a magneto-optical effect. As the dielectric layer I, various nitrides, fluorides and oxides are used. The dielectric layer II is also formed by the dielectric same as or different from the dielectric layer I on the substrate. |
