PURPOSE:To permit the defrosting of a receiving box by a method wherein a heater is operated in conjunction with the operation of an operating switch while a ventilating fan, used for the cooling of the receiving box, is also operated at the same time to defrost both of a cooler and the receiving box. CONSTITUTION:A defrosting heater 31, freezing preventing heaters 32-34 and ventilating fans 21a, 21b used for cooling a receiving box 13 are operated in conjunction with the operation of an operating switch 44 to defrost both of a cooler 22 and the receiving box 13 whereby the defrosting of the receiving box 13 has become possible with a simple improvement and the deterioration of the function of a refrigerator due to frosting can be prevented. When the operating switch 44 is not operated, defrosting of the cooler only is effected in accordance with automatic and periodical defrosting command at every predetermined times T1 (6-8 hours), which is commanded by a timer circuit 72, while a temperature rise in the receiving box 13 is small and, therefore, bad effect on preserved food, which accompanies the temperature rise in the receiving box 13, can be minimized when the user of the refrigerator operates the operating switch 44 with the minimum frequency as possible in accordance with the necessity of operation. |
